In 2008, he joined a major management consulting firm straight out of university.
Working with business owners across Japan, he proposed franchise ventures and learned franchise recruitment and development hands-on.
In 2013 he left the firm to enter the MBA program at Hosei University Graduate School of Business Administration.
There he studied management strategy, organizational theory and finance in a systematic way.
In his late twenties he then moved to Cebu in the Philippines with nothing to his name, starting out by selling katsu sandwiches on the street.
The venture was picked up by television and newspapers, drawing queues day after day and considerable attention.
Building on that experience, he grew the business — and, through a partnership with an overseas Chinese businessman, went on to co-manage a café in Cebu and two yakiniku restaurants and a ramen shop in Manila.
From launching restaurants in overseas markets to running multiple locations, he built genuine capability in developing businesses on the ground abroad.
While searching for his next challenge, he heard the vision for MANMARU’s global expansion from Mr. Yamaguchi, MANMARU’s founder and a long-standing acquaintance.
He made the decision to let go of everything he had built, and took the role of President & CEO of Eat Factory International in order to make multi-store expansion on a global scale a reality.
